Time to read: About 3 minutes. Contains 459 words.
Good morning, dear readers!
Sticky Bits is indeed alive and well. I needed the last couple of weeks to wrap up some projects and catch up with family, but I’m back in the groove with some great reads in store. I hope everyone’s May brought fragrant flowers and smooth seshes. June is just around the bend—I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the sun.
Something else is coming soon: the return of the Lonely Hearts Board! For newer members of the Sticky Bits community, this recurring, weed-centric board of entrepreneurial want ads offers a chance for companies to find their missing piece, creatives to find a new gig, and every kind of connection in between. You can browse past Boards here. It’s free to submit a posting; it’s all free to all to read once live. It’s a lot of fun and often quite fruitful. More to come. 💌
As it’s Friday before a long weekend, I’m keeping things light today. I mostly wanted to say hi and let you know I’ll be back in inboxes Tuesday with the usual One Hitters and High Finds. Here’s some infused food for thought until then.
On May 17, the Justice Department posted a notice of proposed rulemaking that makes the move to reschedule official. It also kicked off the 60-day public comment period—Last Prisoner Project put together a guide to comment submission if you need.
Politico cannabis policy reporter Natalie Fertig went on Vox’s Today Explained podcast to discuss the move to reschedule cannabis and what it will and won’t mean. Although Fertig intentionally refers to it as “marijuana.” Her reasoning is an interesting insight into federal classifications of the plant.
Legislators are actively debating an update to the Farm Bill right now. Bigger update on this on Tuesday, but the results could seriously impact the current untethered state of hemp, particularly relating to Delta 9 and THCA.
You should be sitting down before you look at this custom grill with a built-in mini pipe that Sundae School made in collaboration with Seoul-based jewelry artist Hyung Won, aka LinYang Jewelry.
Are museum gift shops the new design-y bong destinations?
My favorite new song on Childish Gambino’s new album is “Psilocybae (Millennial Love).”
If you’re bringing flower with you anywhere this weekend, my pro tip: coffee beans. Being able to rest assured that the smell will be overpowered by the beans will make the trip much more pleasant. It’s also a hint as to what I’ll be discussing in next Friday’s deep dive. ☕️
Happy to be back,
Lauren Yoshiko
And we're all happy you're back too!
