The Broccoli Report
March 19, 2021
Time to read: 4 minutes, 40 seconds. 936 words.

A romantic scene from Broccoli Issue 02, by Aleia Murawski.

Do you remember that Aubrey Plaza movie, The To-Do List? It was a sex-positive comedy about an over-achieving high school grad hell-bent on checking off every fundamental sexual experience before heading to college in the fall. When Plaza’s mother-figure (played by deadpan Connie Britton) hears of her daughter’s summer plans, she responds by recommending a lot of lube. The light jasmine fragrance made me feel like Cleopatra incarnate. (This is not an ad, I promise). CBD lube is now the only $50+ body/wellness product in my apartment that I don’t use daily. Yes, it’s a great formula, but there’s more going on than full-spectrum extract here. Cannabis and cannabis-adjacent products can change the way we look at other stigmatized products.
